Bill simplifies bicycle racing to the components necessary to race effectively. We focus on the basic skills needed for cycling: effective pedal stroke, bike handling skills, core strength, sustained efforts, accelerations, sprinting, cornering, and climbing. Sixty to seventy-five percent of cycling fitness is developed through muscular endurance to allow the body to sustain the volume and work required to compete. Proper endurance training enhances, maximizes and stabilizes the energy use systems. This is the single most important requirement for a new competitor during their first years in the sport and it is re-established annually by the experienced competitor. In addition to on-the-bike conditioning, we also firmly believe in a program called Core Performance which enhances athleticism, agility and power.
